IFS consultancy from people who do the technical work
Independent technical advice on IFS Cloud and every IFS Applications version back to 2003, from consultants who build, upgrade and support IFS every day.
V2 is an IFS-focused technical consultancy based in the UK. When we advise on an IFS estate, the advice comes from the same people who write the integrations, administer Build Place, take the service updates and convert the reports. That keeps recommendations practical: every one of them has to be something we would be prepared to deliver ourselves.
What clients ask us to help with
- Upgrade assessments and roadmaps. Moving from IFS Applications 8, 9 or 10 to IFS Cloud, or from an older IFS Cloud release to a current one: what changes, what it will cost, and the order to do it in.
- CRIM reviews. An inventory of your Configurations, Reports, Integrations and Modifications, with a recommendation for each: keep, replace with standard functionality, rebuild with IFS Cloud extensibility, or retire. See IFS customisation and modifications.
- Architecture and integration design. How IFS should connect to finance, CRM, shop floor and cloud services, and which IFS APIs and patterns will stay supported through future releases. See IFS integration.
- Technical health checks. Performance, the Oracle Database underneath IFS, background jobs, customisation quality, and how far your environment has drifted from a supported release.
- Release and service update planning. A sustainable cadence for IFS Cloud's evergreen model, so updates become routine rather than projects. See IFS Cloud service updates and releases.
- A second opinion. A technical review of a partner's proposal, estimate or design before you commit to it.
- Technical leadership. A design authority or technical lead for your IFS programme, working alongside your own team or your implementation partner.
How an engagement works
It starts with a short conversation about what you are trying to achieve and what is getting in the way. For assessments and reviews we agree a fixed scope and a written deliverable up front. You get findings ranked by risk and value, with the reasoning behind them, not a slide deck of generic best practice.
Afterwards you can take the recommendations to your own team or your existing partner, or ask us to deliver some or all of the work. We are just as comfortable working alongside another IFS partner as leading the work ourselves.
Why V2
- Technical first. We focus on technical delivery (implementation, integration, extensibility and support) rather than broad business-process advisory work.
- Every IFS version. Skills spanning IFS Applications 2003 through 7, 8, 9 and 10 to IFS Cloud, so we can advise on the estate you actually run.
- The platform underneath. Oracle Database expertise for the performance and data questions that sit below the application, and Microsoft Azure as a Microsoft CSP partner.
Frequently asked questions
Do you only work with IFS Cloud?
No. We work on IFS Cloud and on every IFS Applications version back to IFS Applications 2003, including 7, 8, 9 and 10, and we advise on moving between them.
Can you work alongside our existing IFS partner?
Yes. Many of our engagements are a focused piece of technical work, a review or a second opinion delivered next to another partner or an in-house team.
How is IFS consultancy priced?
Assessments and reviews are usually a fixed scope with an agreed deliverable. Ongoing technical leadership and support are agreed as a regular commitment. Tell us what you need and we will propose the simplest arrangement.
